Make sure you’re in a quiet, private space where you will not be disturbed and where you feel comfortable to make noise (and you might not need to make noise, but make sure you warn your family or have a pillow nearby.)
Make sure you are comfortable and warm. A bed, a couch, a yoga mat will all work, but make sure you have pillows and blankets so you can just curl up at the end and be fully relaxed in case you want to doze off after.
Make sure you have headphones to cancel out any ambient noise around you … this will help you go deeper without being disturbed.
Don’t have a full stomach. Doesn’t need to be empty either, but you will be breathing heavily and we just want to make sure there’s room for that.
Have a box of tissues (just in case) and water on hand, and drink LOTS of water afterward!
Don’t wear anything tight or uncomfortable – it’ll just distract you.
Bring an open mind and an open heart. Be curious about what there is to explore without any preconceived notions about what’s going to happen. The fewer expectations, the better. Remember you’re investing this time in you.
